Purple Flavored Origami

This title is slightly misleading since the subject of this paper-folding project comes in a variety of colors. I think I've only seen purple ones though and I also thought that "purple flavored origami" sounded cute. Well actually, my first inclination was "pretty purple project (origami)"... say that three times :) Anyways, I seem to be babbling so let's focus!! The origami flower du jour is the hyacinth. Hyacinths are supposed to be spring bulbs, but now you can have them year round if you make them yourself. They can be part of your origami garden. I would classify this selection as being relatively simple, but it'll be fun since several pieces are necessary to complete this flower. Enjoy!

Funny sidebar: the flowers in the video are pink. Of course, I assumed they were purple.

Origami Water Lily

I've scoured for a project that would be fun, yet easy(ish) to make. My persistence has awarded this paper folding crew with an origami water lily. This is (more or less) a simple origami project that should be fun yet not time consuming. If you're looking for a more complex paper flower project, stay tuned or browse previous postings; if you're in a creative mood but would like to invest a minimal amount of energy then go for it!!

P.S . I don't know this guy from Adam but, my apologies for his messy room (lol).

Got Yellow Paper??

Since the summer’s willing to fight 'til the bitter end, and is keeping me warm & toasty (at least for one more day; then the cold returns... again—humph!), this project is dedicated to our wacky summautumn. You're allotted one hint and thus one guess for this fun paper project. Ok, the hint: this origami flower is yellow like the sun—actually that's 2 hints! Yup, you're right it's a sunflower:) Note that this origami sunflower will be a little challenging, so be patient. The end result is lovely! You may need some glue for this one. Now get to it!

Also, don’t these sunflower cupcakes look amazing! I’d really like to follow this comment with a recipe for them, but I don’t have one. Sorry, salivate :)

Origami Flowers: Double Feature

Another “hello” from OrigamiFlowers.net! Today we have a double feature—the origami iris and origami tulips. A couple extra things are needed to put on the finishing touches/complete both flowers. For the iris, you'll need a pen or pencil to curl the petals; and for the tulip, a pair of scissors to make the leaves. If you don't feel like making an arrangement, you may choose to forgo the leaves. One note on the tulips— the video shows a variation of this origami flower, I chose this one ‘cause I thought they looked most authentic:) Well... let's proceed!
